Paramount Skydance Will Cut Around 2,000 United States Roles – Report

Paramount Skydance plans to begin mass layoffs the week of 27 October, eliminating about 2,000 US jobs under a budget-saving initiative totaling $2bn overseen by new chief executive David Ellison.

The layoffs are a result of the combination of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized in August valued at $8.4bn.

Additional global layoffs are expected, with Paramount Skydance intending to announce full details during its third-quarter financial update scheduled for November 10.

Prior news suggested the company was looking to cut from 2,000 and 3,000 positions by early November.

By December 2024, the company employed almost 18,600 permanent and temporary staff along with 3,500 project-based staff.

The company has not yet commented to a request for comment.
